Lindsay Moser, LMFT, LAC, NMCFIT

Hello and Welcome!

You made it off the home page, a good sign.

So, if you’re here that means you’re looking for help. But, now you have to do the hardest part….find the right clinician. I know..…big sigh. It can be overwhelming to try and navigate the nuances of each clinician and still have no idea what they’re like as a person.

So, I’ve chosen to put on here what may be helpful to know so you can decipher if we’re the right fit. If you read all this and still aren’t sure, or want to meet first, no problem we can do that. I offer a free 20 minute consultation.

First off, that’s my face up there. There I am, that’s me.

Next, the letters behind my name stand for the Licenses I hold in Colorado, which are: Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist, Licensed Addiction Counselor, Natural Medicine Clinical Facilitator (In Training). There’s more info about that further down if you’d like specifics.

Next is my experience. I have been practicing as a mental health clinician since 2012, and have spent my professional career in service to those in various stages of mental health conditions, as well as, chronic substance and process dependency issues.

My professional experience includes working with:

  • Court ordered adult and juvenile clients involved in probation and CO DHS child welfare services

  • Adult clients in Inpatient Residential Treatment programming for co-occurring mental health and substance dependency complexities

  • Adult and juvenile clients in outpatient settings seeking Ketamine Infusion/TMS/Integration services to overcome treatment resistant mental health and dependency symptoms

  • In case it is important to note, I have experience working with clients still within or retired from high ranking military positions, as well as professionals in the medical field

So, what does all this information mean?

It means my career has been spent treating people with mild to severe mental health, who have come from many backgrounds, many income levels, many professions, and almost all walks of life.

It means I had to become proficient in treating things like; trauma, grief, dependency, depression, and loss of purpose to name a few.

It means I didn’t just jump into private practice. I spent years working with many clinicians with varied specialties, and learned immensely valuable techniques and practices from each of them. I spent years running groups of men and women, teaching them important life changing content and encouraging them to trust the value of vulnerability and authenticity again. I spent years on call, responding to active suicide concerns and imminent safety risks.

It means I’m prepared to help you.

How I Work…

My approach is structured and depth-oriented. I am directional, leading you to the important aspects of what you will need to understand, and offer you opportunities to challenge yourself. I tend to be relational, very open to a laugh when it’s appropriate to have, as they are healing too. I am open minded, curious, and very interested in your story. But, I am known to be challenging when needed.

You will be invited to become genuinely interested in your explanations, and you will be expected to work hard on your own behalf. If you do this, you will become an expert in not only what you are experiencing, but why.

In our work together, we will:

  • Explore the past to identify adaptations used to survive previous experiences

  • Identify the internal patterns they create

  • Develop more adaptive ways of responding and coping

  • If needed, exploring questions of identity, purpose, and direction

  • Any additional guidance you request or feel you need

We are likely a good fit if any of these apply to you…

  • Anxiety

Are you struggling to calm, do you ruminate often, worry about what has happened or might occur, experience social anxiety, or a persistent fear of judgment?

  • Chronic Internal Pressure

Are you struggling to ask for help, experiencing difficulty in letting go of control, feel depleted due to a heightened sense of responsibility but still can’t slow down?

  • Relational Dependency

Are you struggling with persistent self criticism, low self esteem, difficulty taking a compliment, and rely strongly on others opinions when evaluating your worth or when making decisions?

  • Perfecting

Are you struggling with procrastination due to paralysis, do you primarily focus on what is wrong or needs improvement, do you compare yourself to others and notice your inadequacies, are you hard on yourself when mistakes occur, are you defensive when receiving feedback, are you "not enough yet?"

  • Trauma/PTSD

Are you struggling to overcome an instance, several instances, or a lifetime of difficult experiences?  Did this begin as a child, during adolescence, or as an adult? Has your past been a contributing factor in the way you engage with yourself, your loved ones, and the world? Are you seeking insight on how to safely process so you can get out of safety mode?

  • Addiction/Recovery Maintenance

Are you wondering if you have a dependency issue, or has a loved one expressed concern? Do you over utilize a substance, a distraction (TV/social media), a behavior (spending, gambling, sex) to attempt to numb or cope? I Do Not treat active substance addiction disorders rated severe (SUD OR AUD). However, I do treat mild/moderate dependency issues. Also, I can provide outpatient recovery maintenance support for severe addiction disorders after inpatient treatment is successfully completed.

  • Retirement

Were you high functioning in your previous positions? Have you recently retired, or approaching retirement, and feel unprepared to slow down or appropriately occupy yourself? Has your career success been the predominant way you assess your value?  Now that you are less occupied, are you finding your mind difficult to endure? Are you asking who am I now, how will I matter? Is your family expressing concern?

  • Quarter Life Crisis

Are you around age 25-35 and feeling unsure if you're making the right choices on careers or partners, comparing yourself to others, feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities, and unsure of how to navigate this phase of life?

  • Life Transitions/Existential Crisis

Are you going through a career change, graduating, becoming a parent, empty nesting soon, relocating, going through a divorce or engagement, struggling to cope with the loss of your bodies abilities, or shifting in your family roles?

Are you recently more fearful of your mortality, questioning long held values, in a spiritual crisis or loss of belief systems, disillusioned, experiencing loss of meaning, or a crisis of authenticity living a life that doesn’t feel like your own?

Do these sound applicable?

If so, it likely makes sense to take the next step.
